Automation & Integration Event at Packforum:
Are you taking decisions in the dark? Reap the benefits of making your packaging operations and processes more visible.

October, 2008

On 8-9 October 2008 the Sealed Air European permanent customer care center Packforum® welcomed around 100 participants from all over Europe to the Automation & Integration Event.

Under the theme “Are You Taking Decisions in the Dark?” the event focused on food packaging automation & integration solutions and capabilities, services and associated benefits such as reduced operational costs and process improvements. The event was specifically designed to show participants how line integration works in food packaging, how it improves efficiency and increases productivity, and how it provides better information to help processors reach their business goals.

External speakers included Dave McKenna of Cargill Meat solutions, Henry Morris of Smithfield Foods, both from the U.S. and Rene Kjær of Marel Food Systems. “The positive feedback from participants who represented 26 companies from 21 countries confirmed that automation and integration is not only a very interesting topic but also a critical one for Sealed Air customers”, said Jean Sornay, Vice President Customer Equipment, Sealed Air. The new PakFormance line in particular attracted a lot of attention.

The three-day Packforum® Open House from May 20th to 22nd proved a star attraction with 50 key industry and retail players attending from these fast-growing segments of the fresh foods market.

As well as a market overview of European trends and developments, delegates enjoyed live demonstrations and two-way sessions, which gave an insight into the investment that Cryovac is making in product innovations that offer the consumer even more convenience and quality, including Cryovac® Simple Steps®, Cryovac® n’Oven®, Cryovac® VPP for fluids and the widest range of fresh and frozen pizza packaging solutions.

A particular highlight was the third day’s session hosted by Cryovac® Food Engineering: this embraced the latest developments in food preparation and cooking, with a special emphasis on microwave cooking techniques.

Fish & Seafood Packaging Conference: Deliver Them Fresh!

Leading industry experts were invited to share their views and ideas and highlight the recent market trends and developments.

Packforum® hosted its second global fish and seafood event at the beginning of April, which was attended by 85 delegates from retail, industry, food sciences and the media, representing 64 companies from 21 countries in West and East Europe as well as Saudi Arabia.

The programme, critically praised by attendees, comprised a seminar session with a series of presentations by leading industry experts on all aspects of fish packaging plus specific workshops and an optional store tour.

Dedicated Cheese Event at Sealed Air’s Packforum: Climb to the Summit!

Packforum®, the Sealed Air European customer care center near Paris, hosted a unique, global cheese event on 24-26 October 2007. This event served to provide a comprehensive update on the advanced technologies and automation processes that are indispensable to ensure safe and quality product packaging, efficient line outputs, product preservation and protection for the global supply chain.

Leading industry experts were invited to share their views and ideas and highlight the recent market trends and developments. The event welcomed 97 participants from 23 countries all over the world, with extensive representation from Eastern Europe.
